Fit Fashion: H&M's new For Every Victory collection

H&M: For Every Victory Collection.

After browsing the new collection by H&M in store named For Every Victory, we couldn't resit. The collection was developed with professional athletes for "those who take on new challenges, fight prejudice and conquer their fears".

It was lucky that we were already in the market for some new gym gear, and being H&M, the bank didn't take too much of a battering, which is often the case when purchasing good quality, stylish gym threads. The collection features chevron style motifs as well as gold detailing. H&M were also able to produce a selection of these garments ethically so that they form part of their "conscious" collection. So you can get fit, look good, not break the bank and help fuel the ethical fashion movement.

We (Erlend) tested out a few pieces from the menswear collection today, and here is the verdict.

Although the collection would be perfect for the gym, being super sleek and stylish and all that jazz, we decided to take to the mountains for an evening outdoor cardio sesh. So product by product here is whats great about a select few pieces of the collection.

Running top

The short sleeved running top (£14.99 here), comes in black and features a typographic print with gold reflective stripes towards the neckline. So first of, points for design. The fabric does not feel cheap, which could be an issue with the price being low, and is made from a recycled polyester, making it eligible for the H&M conscious collection.

In terms of comfort the fabric is fast drying and moveable, and lightweight. This makes it perfect for use during cardio. The shirt is tight fitting and didn't ride up whilst running.

Overall, the shirt makes a great base layer for running, however, as evening meant dropped temperatures, a outer layer was required.

Running Jacket

The running jacket (£39.99 here), also comes in the same black as the previous product with similar design elements to it. The jacket features the same gold reflective details and also has mesh inserts for ventilation and gold hardware which runs through the entire collection. The jacket also has windproof sections which is perfect for when the wind gets up towards the higher points of mountain trails.

The piece is light and not restricting when worn and also has those handy little wrist warmers which helps the sleeves stay down and keep your wrists and arms warm when out in the lower temperatures.

Running Shorts

Alike the other pieces featured, the shorts (£24.99 here) ran with the design theme, providing consistency to the outfit. However, as the collection uses neutral colours, the pieces can be mixed and matched in with pieces already owned. The running shorts have the gold reflective panels around the pockets. And pockets, always useful! The shorts also have a curved hem which adds further detail to the garment.

Shorts were not restricting and were lightweight so easy to move in.

Drawstring Sports Bag

To finish off, the sports bag (£14.99 here) was a great idea to carry a water bottle in and provided something to store the outer laying in when it got too hot. Again in the same black as the other products with the same typographic print that featured on the shirt. Bag was lightweight and not restricting.

I hope this post has been enjoyable, and hopefully pointed out a great alternative to purchasing expensive gym wear. If you know of any other cheaper fitness brands that you would recommend, leave them in the comments below.

Of course the run did involve a little Pokemon hunting. Who else has been playing?

Until next time,
